The Elizabethan-styled Greenham Lodge (aka the Manor House) was built 1878-81 by the Lord of the Manor, Harry Baxendale. Upon his death in 1937, his
Estate was bought by Newbury Corporation (Council)
for £225. Today, its a school for deaf children.
